Scaling up the Wood to Food technology to bridge the European protein gap and sustainably impact the Aquafeed industry.

SYLFEED is an international and multidisciplinary project that aims to improve the worldwide food security by producing a protein that is a nutritional, economical, traceable, sustainable and alternative feed ingredient for aquaculture.

SYLFEED scales up Arbiom’s Wood to Food Technology that aims to convert wood residues into a protein-rich ingredient comprised of SCP (Single Cell Protein) and test it in aquaculture applications.

At SYLFEED, we wish to bring a natural, traceable, sustainable and cost competitive protein rich ingredient derived from wood residues to the fish feed market, thus unlocking value from underutilized forest and wood residues.

The project gathers 10 partners all along the value chain from wood sourcing to fish feed manufacturing & testing to address the European protein gap.
Our project is funded by the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement N°745591.
